To those engaged in traditional Japanese arts such as ikebana and tea ceremony,
why not create an interactive experience for visitors? Share your skills and passion, allowing them to immerse themselves in the beauty of Japanese tradition.

Organized by the Japan Fair Association of Vancouver (JFAV), it is part of the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival.

  • 2025 Attendance: Over 14,000 visitors in two days!
  • Festival Highlights: Vendor booths, cultural performances, Experience Japan, and Taste of Japan
  • Tickets: Online pre-sale only. Admission grants access to all vendor areas, performances, and activities.

Culture Criteria

The JFAV carefully selects Cultural Participants who help enhance the understanding of Japanese culture in Canada.

Participation is subject to JFAV approval.

Culture Participation Details

The venue and schedule will be determined and arranged by JFAV.

The facilities provided for cultural participants will be discussed in advance after selection.

Culture Responsibilities

  • Providing all necessary materials and equipment (music, instruments, costumes, props, lighting, extension cords, decorations, etc.)
  • Carrying out performances/workshops professionally and adhering to JFAV guidelines
  • Arriving at the designated venue 30-45 minutes before the activity to check in and set up
  • Assuming full responsibility for contractual obligations related to the event
  • Purchasing individual insurance coverage for the event
  • Collecting applicable taxes for any sold items

NOTE:

Failure to meet these requirements may result in cancellation of participation.

Facilities & Services

  • Washrooms: Located in the Visitor Centre and near the Upper Lawn.
  • Limited supply available at performance venues.

Additional power requests must be detailed in the application form.

  • Security: Onsite security provided, but participants are responsible for their belongings.
  • Weather & Safety: JFAV reserves the right to close performances or booths due to safety concerns.

Marketing & Promotion

SDJF receives extensive media coverage through:

  • Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival promotions
  • Community event listings & websites
  • Email marketing campaigns

NOTE:

  • Vendors grant JFAV permission to use their name, photos, and business details for promotional purposes.
  • Media Interviews: Indicate on your application if you are willing to participate (specify language preferences).

Application Deadlines

  • Sunday, January 11, 2026 – Application Deadline
  • Sunday, February 1, 2026 – Payment Due

NOTE

  • The information collected on this form will be used for signage and other communications related to this event, so please ensure that all information is correct.
  • Please email the JFAV at vendors@japanfairvancouver.com if you have any questions about the event or the application procedure.
  • The JFAV reviews all submitted applications and reserves the right to not accept any application. Applicants chosen to participate in Sakura Days Japan Fair (“the SDJF”) must submit their participation fee by Sunday, February 1, 2026.

      ReqRule 1: Use of Vendor Information

      The vendor grants the JFAV and the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival the right to use the vendor’s name, photographs, likenesses, and biographies to advertise and promote the Event.

      ReqRule 2: Temporary Food Services Application

      All food samplers MUST complete and submit a Vancouver Coastal Health Temporary Food Services Application by February 8, 2026.

      ReqRule 3: Food Safety Inspection

      Vancouver Coastal Health will conduct a food safety inspection on the day of the event. Booth operations must remain fully within the designated tent area. Vendors who fail the inspection may not participate.

      ReqRule 4: Use of Biodegradable Materials

      All food samplers MUST only use biodegradable or compostable plates, utensils, and containers. Violations may result in penalties, booth closure, or disqualification from future events.

      ReqRule 5: Participation Fee Policy

      After being accepted to participate in the SDJF 2026, the Applicant agrees to pay the participation fee and understands that it is non-refundable.

      ReqRule 6: Liability and Agreement

      I have read and agree to the terms of this application, including the liability waiver. I release SDJF and its affiliates from all losses or damages and accept full responsibility for any risks involved in participation.

      ReqRule 7: Publication on Participants Page

      This information will be reflected on the Participants page of the official Sakura Days Japan Fair website.
