To those involved in Japanese cultural activities such as dance, kendo, and judo—why not showcase your passion and elevate the cultural appeal of the festival even further? Take this opportunity to share your artistry and be part of a vibrant celebration of Japanese traditions!
Organized by the Japan Fair Association of Vancouver (JFAV), it is part of the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival.

- Tickets: Online pre-sale only. Admission grants access to all vendor areas, performances, and activities.
- New for 2025: Expanded use of the Floral Hall Pavilion to enhance vendor and guest experience.

Show Stages Criteria
The JFAV carefully selects Cultural Participants who help enhance the understanding of Japanese culture in Canada.
Participation is subject to JFAV approval.
Show Stages Participation Details
The venue and schedule for performances will be determined and arranged by JFAV.
Show Stages Will Be Provided With:
- A shared dressing room for performers
- A basic PA system at the performance venue
- A Stage Manager, Sound Technician, and MC for Cherry Stage and Floral Stage performances
- Tables and/or chairs as required
Show Stages Responsibilities
- Providing all necessary materials and equipment (music, instruments, costumes, props, lighting, extension cords, decorations, etc.)
- Carrying out performances/workshops professionally and adhering to JFAV guidelines
- Arriving at the Cultural Participant entrance 60-75 minutes before scheduled performance time
- Arriving at the designated venue 30-45 minutes before the activity to check in and set up
- Ensuring all copyrights, union contracts, and performance rights are in place
- Assuming full responsibility for contractual obligations related to the event
- Purchasing individual insurance coverage for the event
- Collecting applicable taxes for any sold items
NOTE:
Failure to meet these requirements may result in cancellation of participation.
Facilities & Security
- Washrooms: Located in the Visitor Centre and near the Upper Lawn.
- Limited supply available at performance venues.
Additional power requests must be detailed in the application form.
- Security: Onsite security provided, but participants are responsible for their belongings.
- Weather & Safety: JFAV reserves the right to close performances or booths due to safety concerns.
Marketing & Promotion
SDJF receives extensive media coverage through:
- Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival promotions
- Community event listings & websites
- Email marketing campaigns
NOTE:
- Vendors grant JFAV permission to use their name, photos, and business details for promotional purposes.
- Media Interviews: Indicate on your application if you are willing to participate (specify language preferences).

NOTE
- The information collected on this form will be used for signage and other communications related to this event, so please ensure that all information is correct.
- Please email the JFAV at vendors@japanfairvancouver.com if you have any questions about the event or the application procedure.
- The JFAV reviews all submitted applications and reserves the right to not accept any application. Applicants chosen to participate in Sakura Days Japan Fair (“the SDJF”) must submit their participation fee by Sunday, February 2, 2025.
