Take-Akari, Bamboo Lights, is a New Japanese culture that originated from Kyushu, Japan. The phrase "take akari" combines two Japanese words to mean "bamboo light(s)" or "bamboo lantern(s)". Take (竹) means "bamboo". Akari (明かり or 灯り) means "light," "brightness," or "illumination," often referring to the soft glow from a lamp or candle. "Take-Akari" Bamboo lights gently envelop you in a soft glow, wind down for a good night's sleep, and are also great as a gift.
